Kruser, Margaret Mary
Margaret Mary Kruser, 76, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Dubuque, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at West Ridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Tom McDermott. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, and one hour before the service Thursday at the church. A rosary service will be held at 4:30 p.m. for immediate family and friends. The vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Julie (Pat Fowler) Kruser and Tim (Jackie) Kruser, all of Cedar Rapids, and Patrick (Jean) Kruser of Lee Summit, Mo.; four grandchildren, Daniel, Steven, Brian and Dawson; and a nephew, Stan (Sybil) Schroeder of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and her siblings, John F. and twins, Paul and Pauline.
Margaret was born April 2, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Kohnen) Schroeder, in North Buena Vista, Iowa. On May 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Eugene “Geo” Kruser. He died April 3, 2007. Margaret worked at the Bethany Home Care Center in Dubuque and then for the Cedar Rapids School System.
A 10 year breast cancer survivor, Margaret was a member of St. Ludmila's Catholic Church and volunteered at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
