Krumbholz, Dale
Dale Krumbholz, 86, of Des Moines, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Fountain West Center, West Des Moines.
Dale was born April 26, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Otto and Maude Krumbholz. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Cedar Rapids and was immediately drafted by the U.S. Army. In 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Joyce. In 1956, they moved to Des Moines, where he went to work for Meredith Corporation. He retired in 1987, and started what his family referred to as his second career as a golfer. He became a “fixture” at A.H. Blank Golf Course. It paid off on Oct. 26, 1988, when he shot a hole-in-one.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Janet; sons, David (Melanie) Krumbholz and Tom (Sheryl) Krumbholz; daughter-in-law, Rita Krumbholz; siblings, Barbara Jones and Wayne (Norma Lee) Krumbholz; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark; and siblings, Kenneth and Aileen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Ave., Des Moines, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., with an American Legion presentation at 6 p.m. by Bellizzi MacRae Post 659 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW Ninth St., Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Unity Point Hospice or St. Anthony Foundation.
