Kruckenberg, Allen R.
Allen R. Kruckenberg, 85, went to be with his Savior Saturday, May 21, 2011, after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Springs of Life Foursquare Church. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; three children, Lyn (Geri) of Rock Island, Ill., Mark (Marilyn) of Anamosa and Kimery (Tom) Lorenz of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Everett (Ruth), Delbert (Doris) and Virgil; and two sisters, Arlene (Orville) Wulf and Eunice Boedeker.
Born to Richard and Alma Kruckenberg in Lowden, Iowa, on Sept. 22, 1925, he attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Lowden High School. Allen proudly served as a TSGT in the Evacuation Hospital unit in Europe in World War II from 1943-1946. On Feb. 21, 1953, he married Donna Hill. He worked on the farm and part time delivering pianos, and retired from National Oats in 1991 after 26 years.
He enjoyed his family, church and Bible, camping and fishing.
Allen will be greatly missed by all.
