Kristi Ann (Palmer) Carner, 47, of Trenton, Mo., passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 4401 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids.
Kristi was born Feb. 9, 1969, the daughter of Terry and Marene (Metzger) Palmer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended Andrews Christian Academy in Cedar Rapids, Sunnydale Academy in Centralia, Mo., and Union College in Lincoln, Neb. Kristi graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She was united in marriage to Michael Todd Carner on July 26, 1992. Their union was blessed with two sons, Christian and Zachary.
Kristi was very creative and enjoyed making crafts, decorating and singing. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and pets, a golden lab, Kali, and three cats, Panther, Roscoe and Cooter.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Carner; two sons, Christian and Zachary; parents, Terry and Marene Palmer; sister, Tami (Dan) Walker; brother, Bryon (Gabriela) Palmer; niece and nephew, Hailey and Alden; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruben and Anna Metzger, and Ray and Dorothy Palmer.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Dr. Chirantan Ghosh, Dr. Gerald D. Hagin and Mindy Martin and staff for their compassion and care of Kristi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Kristi, while sleeping in Christ, is waiting for the first resurrection (John 5:28-29) and her soon coming Lord and Savior (1 Corinthians 15:51-55 and Thessalonians 4:14-18).
