Kris L. Kinkead, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kris was born on August 27, 1947. He was the son of Justin and Lucille Kinkead, and after his mother’s passing, was raised by his loving stepmother Ruth Kinkead. Kris was a lifetime resident of Cedar Rapids. Early in life, he worked various sales jobs. In 1989, his childhood love of bowling turned into his beloved Professional Bowling Concepts business. Kris was a professional bowler for many years. Kris married Mary Reuman in 2001. He was inducted into the Cedar Rapids ABC Hall of Fame. In 2010, the United States Bowling Congress recognized Kris for 25 years of participation. Kris also received numerous other bowling awards. Kris was a devout Christian and whenever asked what was the most important thing in his life, his response was his faith.
In addition to his wife Mary, Kris is survived by three stepdaughters, Renee (Corey) Meth, Julie (Bob) Welter, and Denise (Chad) Little; and seven wonderful grandchildren that Kris dearly loved, Grant Meth and Emily Meth; Reggie, Cole, and Luke Welter, Gabe and Paul Little.
Preceding him in death were his parents Justin, Lucille, and Ruth Kinkead.
Memorials may be directed to Mary Kinkead. Distribution will be determined at a later time, or you may donate to your favorite charity in Kris’s memory.
