James E. Kriegel, 84, of Malcom, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the Mayflower Home, Grinnell. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. today at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m.
Memorials to the Alzheimer's' Foundation, the American Cancer Society or Calvary Cemetery Association, Brooklyn.
He is survived by 13 children, Carmen Kay Cordes (Marvin) of Guernsey, Rosemary Neighbors (Gordon) of Malcom, Gary Kriegel (Becky) of Malcom, Kathy Whitsell (Gary) of Chelsea, Connie Buffum (Jim) of Grinnell, Debbie Hargis (Caleb) of New Sharon, Cindy Schmidt of Montezuma, Don Kriegel (Christy) of Malcom, Roger Kriegel (Valerie) of Deep River, Janet Plants (Ron) of Brooklyn, Angie Roller (Kevin) of Holiday Lake, Vickie Bunn (Mike) of Brooklyn, and Janine Hawkins (Dave) of Brooklyn; 46 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Brad Schafbuch of Victor and Mike Ahrens of Grinnell; three brothers, Lawrence, Glen Joe (Linda) and Kenny, all of Brooklyn; and two sisters, Gladys Healey of Toledo, and Mary Jane Rich (Tom) of Tennessee.
