Kress, Ronald D.
Ronald D. Kress, 54, of Quasqueton, died Thursday morning, March 14, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Ron was born March 17, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Darwin L. and Florence E. (Seys) Kress. He was a 1977 graduate of East Buchanan High School in Winthrop. On May 28, 1977, he was united in marriage to Robin A. Hogan at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Winthrop. The couple made their home in Quasqueton. He was employed in construction companies throughout the Cedar Rapids area.
Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Robin, Quasqueton; two sons, Jeff (Sarah) Kress, Cedar Rapids, and Jason (Vicki) Kress, Winthrop; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Pam (Kevin) Peterson, Independence.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Winthrop, with the Rev. Don Plamondon officiating. Burial will be in the Quasqueton Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Reiff Funeral Home in Quasqueton.
