Kremer, Cletus J.
Cletus J. Kremer, 93, of Independence, died Sunday evening, Oct. 30, 2011, at Buchanan County Health Center in Independence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with the Rev. John Kremer officiating and the Rev. Craig Steimel concelebrating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a parish vigil service held at 7:30 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Kremer, Independence; 10 children: Eugene (Valerie) Kremer, Gardiner, Mont.; Kenneth (Therese) Kremer, Cedar Falls; Patricia (Richard) Struble, Beloit, Kan.; Larry (Carol) Kremer, Manchester; Jerry Kremer, Marshalltown; Raymond (Denise) Kremer, Waterloo; Janice (Barry) Skog, Burnsville, Minn.; Roger (Connie) Kremer, Ottumwa; Connie (Dennis) Balk, Dodgeville, Wis.; and Norma (Jon) Jacobsen, Cedar Rapids; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Kremer, Grinnell; a former daughter-in-law, Rebecca Kremer, Marshalltown; a sister, Alice Hennessey, Cedar Rapids; and three brothers, Paul Kremer, Jesup, the Rev. John Kremer, Delhi, and James Kremer, Waterloo.
