Kratzer, Kathleen M.

Kathleen M. Kratzer, 57, of 1323 Tower Lane NE, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, from complications of diabetes. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and at the chapel after 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Survivors include a son, Justin (Rachael) Ray, and a daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Bishop, both of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Gloria Flatt of Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters, Colleen (Cub) Gish of Mesa, Ariz., Jody (Rich) Papa of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Heather (Robert) Yates of Frederick, Okla. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Drake and Tiffany Bishop, Jaeden, Maclain and Rylan Ray; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father and two brothers, Brian and Christopher McCarthy.

Kathleen was born April 30, 1952, in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Donald and Gloria McCarthy. She married Ronald E. Kratzer on Oct. 12, 1989, in Aurora, Colo. He died in 1993. Kathleen was office manager at Spring Valley Dental for over 34 years and also was employed part-time at Rogers Jewelry. She belonged to the Riverside V.I.P. Club and enjoyed shopping and especially time spent with her beloved grandchildren and many many friends.

A memorial fund has been established in Kathleen's name.
