Kramer (Ret.) RPA-C, MJR Michael J.
MJR Michael J. Kramer (Ret.) RPA-C, 64, of Evans Mills, N.Y., died of a heart attack Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at his home. The funeral service, with full military honors, was held Sept. 29 at Fredericks Brothers Funeral Home in Evans Mills. Burial was Oct. 3 in Pennsylvania, with his son, Pastor Jaycob Kramer officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline of Pennsylvania, of whom he was separated for many years; sons, Todd Kramer, Pastor Jaycob (Heather) Kramer of Arkansas and Andrew Kramer of Pennsylvania; daughters, Michelle Needham of Arkansas and Cheryl Kramer of Pennsylvania; brother, Jeffrey Kramer of Cedar Rapids; sister, Karen (Kaye) Fisher of Marion; aunts, Bernice (Bea) Faaberg of Marion and Dorothy Pollock of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren: Jude, 1; Lily, 3; Garydale, 9; Katelynn, 10; and Danielle, 13, of Arkansas; special friend and companion of over 10 years, Brenda Brown of Black River, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins from Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas.
Michael was born July 21, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Irvin J. and Ellen B. (Coppess) Kramer. He graduated from Washington Senior High in 1966 and Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. He served in the United States Army almost 30 years, serving in many states as well as Korea, Germany and Iraq and the Gulf War, earning the Bronze Star.
While in the Army, he earned a Physicians Assistant certification and worked at Guthrie Center Army Post in Fort Drum, N.Y. After retiring, he continued to work at the Post Hospital, where all his staff and patients praised him for his hard work and dedication working long overtime hours and weekends.
Preceding Michael in death, besides his parents, was a sister, Delores Nanke.
He was a member of the VFW in Kingston, Pa., and the Society of Army Physicians Assistants.
God saw that Michael was tired and said Come Home with Me Son. God bless you, Michael, you're at peace now!
