Kramer, Elsie A. (Alice)
Elsie A. (Alice) Kramer, 91, Mosinee, Wis., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau, Wis.
She was born March 9, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Vacek) Tauber. She married Frank Kramer on Sept. 27, 1978, in Cedar Rapids. He survives.
Elsie had a love for baseball. She was the office manager of the Cedar Rapids Minor League Baseball teams for many years. Her son, Mike was in the minor leagues at the time of his death. In memory of Mike she dedicated the flagpoles that stand at the Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from high school and worked in pharmaceuticals and for Monroe Calculator Co., retiring in 1986.
In June 2008, Elsie and Frank relocated to Mosinee after the loss of their home in the 2008 flood.
Survivors, beside her husband, Frank, include three stepdaughters, Linda (Sidney) Wingfield, Sarasota, Fla., Terri (John) Birnbaum, Mosinee, and Jill Whittemore, Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, John (Jodie) Birnbaum, Andrea (Phil) Stankard and Mariah Whittemore; three great-grandsons, John VI Birnbaum, Jaxsen Birnbaum and Desmond Whittemore; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
