Kramer, Dolores A.
Dolores A. Kramer, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Jan. 7, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. The Rev. David Beckman will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 48 years, Justin; her children, Mary Beth Goodfellow and husband Brad of Iowa City, and Joe Kramer and wife Angie of Cedar Rapids; her brother, Bob Franks and wife Lynette of La Crosse, Wis.; and her beloved grandchildren, Bailee, Madison, J.D., Rylee, Brian, Lyndsie, Kayla, Abi, Nolan, Zach, Jenna and Josie.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Dolores Ann Kramer was born April 15, 1939, in Mason City, Iowa, the beloved daughter of Joe and Evelyn (McMenimen) Franks. She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Dubuque and began a career in nursing that spanned 40 years and included time at both St. Luke's Hospital and Mercy Medical Center. She was united in marriage to Justin W. Kramer on Nov. 24, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City. They were blessed with two children, and later, 12 grandchildren.
Dolores enjoyed watching her husband coach basketball and golf at both Regis and Xavier High Schools. She also was a frequent attendee at many of the extra curricular events at both schools. She also enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Above all, her greatest enjoyment was experiencing the many successes and the immense love she shared with her grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dolores' name.
