Krall, Elizabeth 'Bette' M.
Elizabeth “Bette” M. Krall, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 25, 2013, at St. Luke's Living Center West. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Ludmila Catholic Church by Father Dennis Juhl. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Bette is survived by her husband of 65 years, John; children, Donald (Debra) Krall and Jim Krall, both of Cedar Rapids, and Kathleen (Jeff) Steffen of Holman, Wis.; five grandchildren, Brian (Sheena) Krall, Alicia (friend Anthony Snodey) Krall, Kristen (Ben) Csiacsek, Peter (Monika) Steffen and Paul (Lesleigh) Steffen; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jane (Wayne) Miller, Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Krall; parents, Raymond and Agnes (Komischke) Cantwell; sisters, JoAnn Kucera and Ramona Smetzer; and a brother, Paul Cantwell.
Elizabeth was born March 14, 1926, in Van Horne, and had lived in Cedar Rapids since she was 17 years of age. She married John F. Krall on Aug. 17, 1948, in Van Horne. Bette completed nurse's training at Mercy Hospital and was employed as a Registered Nurse for several years.
Bette was a very active member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church and was involved in many activities of St. Ann's Circle and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of Lodge 500 WFLA and the Red Hat Society.
Bette was a loving and caring person who will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Ludmila Catholic Church and Discovery Living.
