Kraft, Skylar Reed

Skylar Reed Kraft, 18, of Blue Grass, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013, in Davenport, Iowa. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly and Jersey Ridge, in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walcott Cemetery.

Skylar was born May 28, 1994, in Davenport to Ed Sarsfield and Juliet Kraft. He was a senior at Davenport West High School, where he participated in football, baseball, and wrestling. He enjoyed FFA and 4-H activities and especially grooming and showing cattle. Skylar was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and mud trucking. He had just purchased his first Harley Davidson and was looking forward to many rides.

Survivors include his mother, Juliet Kraft; father, Ed and Crystal Sarsfield; a sister, Zoey Sarsfield; grandparents, Robert Kraft and Merilee Kraft, Orvil and Vicki Sarsfield, Bob and Barb Capron, and John and Priscilla Steffen; great-grandparents, Bud and Larena Nellis; aunts and uncles, Stephanie Drummond, Korry and Kerri Kraft, Jennifer and Kevin Coss, Chad and Angie Sarsfield, Laura and Jeff Hulsebus, and Trevor and Jeanie Capron; and also many cousins.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Roman and Ruth Kraft, Harriet Webb, and Orvil and Gladys Sarsfield.
