Kosobucki, Reiko
Reiko Kosobucki, 80, of Coralville, formerly of Kingsland, Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Mercy Iowa City.
Reiko was born in Aomori, Japan, on Oct. 5, 1932. In June 1963, she married Robert “Bob” Kosobucki, a U.S. Air Force airman, stationed at Misawa Air Base, Japan.
She was a strong and independent woman who supported her husband and children through multiple moves around the world.
Reiko is survived by her four children, who were devoted to her: Richard Makino of Cupertino, Calif., Mary Kosobucki of Coralville, Adolph Kosobucki of Jacksonville, Fla., and Frank Kosobucki of Evansville, Ind. She also leaves behind two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her four siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospice Unit at Mercy Iowa City, Iowa City Hospice, or the American Red Cross.
A service will be held in St. Marys, Ga.
