Kopecky, Mary J. Stramel McLain
Mary J. Stramel McLain Kopecky, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died April 10, 2011, at Heritage Care Center following a long illness. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, with Father Chris Podhajsky presiding. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is handling arrangements.
Mary was born Feb. 12, 1918, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of John J. and Elizabeth Stramel.
Mary is survived by a son, Ron McLain (Mary) of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Judy McLain of Cedar Rapids, Scott McLain of Valparaiso, Ind., and Matt Paul of Des Moines; and a brother, Lou (LaVaun) Stramel of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Mary worked as a supervisor for 10 years at IOA Foods and Packaging in Cedar Rapids, and was then co-owner/operator of the Ideal Cafe and Arrow Printing of Cedar Rapids.
The family would like to give thanks to the friends and caregivers who were supportive during Mary's illness.
