Kool, Zua
Zua Kool, 80, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, in Oskaloosa.
Zua Hewitt Kool was born Nov. 29, 1930, to Fred and Freida Irene Hewitt Kool in Mahaska County, near University Park, Iowa. She was a 1949 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. After graduation, Zua was employed at the Photo Shop in Oskaloosa for several years. She moved to Cedar Rapids in 1960 and began her working career at Rockwell Collins. Zua initially worked on the assembly line, she ended her career as assembly line supervisor and retired in 1990. She moved back to Oskaloosa in 1994, to be near family members. Over the years Zua had enjoyed traveling and collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia.
She is survived by five brothers, Tony Kool of Oskaloosa, Sam and Alice Kool of Eddyville, Clayton and JoAnn Kool of Oskaloosa, Harry and Sandra Kool of Oskaloosa, and Howard and Janet Kool of McCook, Neb.; two sisters, Stella and Clark Cook of Des Moines, and Kathy Rawson of Walker; and many good friends.
Zua was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Andrew Kool.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope Free Methodist Church of Oskaloosa.
