Koob, Merlin J. 'Moe'
Merlin J. “Moe” Koob, 76, of 107 Lincoln St. SW, Cascade, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at 11:25 p.m., at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. Friends and relatives of Merlin may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade.
Merlin was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Cascade, Iowa, son of Nicholas and Catherine (Billmeyer) Koob. He received his education in the former St. Mary's School in Cascade. Merlin was employed with the City of Cascade. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade.
He is survived by one sister, Lois (Fay) Greif of Coggon; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
