Koeppen, Steven Allen
Steven Allen Koeppen, 57, a lifelong Cedar Rapids resident, passed away Monday evening, April 25, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Anthony Smith of New Creation International Church, Iowa City, will officiate. Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Memories. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Steve was born Aug. 13, 1954, in Cedar Rapids. He was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Washington High School. After graduation Steve went to work for Martin Oil Co. He later worked for Ralston Foods Inc. for 33 years.
Steve enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed attending sporting events especially baseball, hockey and racing in his spare time, and loved playing practical jokes and sharing laughs with his friends and family.
Steve was a member of the Cedar Rapids Jaycees for many years.
Steve is survived by his mother, Ardis Koeppen; four brothers, Nathan and Mark Koeppen and Kenny and Jim Christner; sister, Carole Schexnayder; and his stepmother, Connie Koeppen.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Eugene “Red” Koeppen; sister, Karen Pawlowski; and grandparents, Rudy and Viola Koeppen and Irwin and Tillie Miller.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
