Florian A. Koch, 85, of Oelwein, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Monday, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Interment, with military graveside rites: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Florian is survived by his wife, Katherine Koch of Oelwein; two daughters, Debra (Ron) Carpenter of Lamont and Dorothy “Dorty” (Jeff) Yauslin of West Union; two sons, Dennis (Lynne) Koch of Oelwein and Dwayne (Chris) Koch of Center Point; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Jim) Welter of Masonville; two brothers, LaVern (Mary) Koch of Aurora and Jerome (Verna) Koch of Lamont; and many nieces and nephews.
