Knuth, Ronald Dean
Ronald Dean Knuth, 76, of Elkader, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at the Elkader Care Center in Elkader following a sudden illness. He was born July 1, 1933, in St. Olaf, to Arthur and Mabel (Kjosa) Knuth. Ronald attended rural schools in Clayton County, later attending Elkader High School, where he graduated in 1952.
He farmed many years with his parents and also worked as a farm hand for others. Following the death of his parents, Ronald moved to Scenic Acres, rural St. Olaf, where he resided many years. In 2006, he moved to the Elkader Care Center, where he was currently living. He enjoyed farm implements, tractors and painting by number. Bingo was a favorite of Ronald's.
Ronald is survived by a sister, Ruth Dutka, Garnavillo; nephews, Dan Dutka, Rochester, Minn., Randy Dutka, Trempealeau, Wis., Howard Dutka, Temecula, Calif.; several cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Donald Dutka.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, with Rev. Marshall Hahn officiating.
Interment: Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural St. Olaf.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
