Knapp, Jennifer Sue
Jennifer Sue Knapp, 29, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church by the Rev. David Beckman. A vigil service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home where friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday at the church after 9:30 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
She is survived by her parents, Craig and Lisa of Hiawatha; 2 week old infant son, Keegan James, born on Aug. 6, 2011; brother, Brent (Brooke) of San Francisco, Calif.; grandmother, Gloria Langenfeld of Cedar Rapids; three uncles and aunts, Steve and Sue Knapp of Marion, Jim and Cecilia of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Sara and Dennis Navin of Des Moines; and many cousins.
Jennifer was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, James Langenfeld; and paternal grandparents, Alfred and Dorothy Knapp.
Jennifer was born May 14, 1982, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Craig and Lisa (Langenfeld) Knapp. She attended St. Matthew's grade school and Washington High School.
Jennifer was an avid Hawkeye fan who had exceptional athletic ability playing many sports such as softball, volleyball and soccer for St. Matthew's and Washington. She was a lover of animals, especially her dog Gizmo. Jennifer was a kind spirited person, lover of life, lived every day to the fullest, never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jennifer was thrilled to be a first time mother with her joy, Keegan.
