Kloubec, Evelyn LaRene
Evelyn LaRene Kloubec, 86, of Amana, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at her home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Teahen-Walford Chapel, with Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids, in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Hala Cemetery near Walford. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Teahen-Walford Chapel with Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids, in charge. Visitation also will be an hour before services Tuesday.
Evelyn was born Aug. 31, 1923, in rural Amana, the daughter of Milo Antone and Alice Elizabeth Mouchka Hala. Evelyn married Leonard William Kloubec on Aug. 22, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Evelyn and Leonard farmed in the Amana area all their lives. She enjoyed life with her family on the farm. Evelyn was proud of her Czech heritage. She loved playing polka music on the piano for her friends and family.
Evelyn is survived by her sons, Gary (Dolores) Kloubec, Michael (Marlene) Kloubec, Gene (Laura) Kloubec and Myron (Ellen) Kloubec, all of rural Amana; grandchildren, Lora (Don) Shramek, Chad (Lisa) Kloubec, Jeremy (Deborah) Kloubec, Monte (Misti) Kloubec, Amanda (Enrique) Iniguez, Jennifer (Ryan) Maresh, Kellie (Matt) Stallman, Lyndsey (Ryan) McCarty, Nicholas Kloubec and Meghan Kloubec (Adam Reutzel); as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; a granddaughter, Emily LaRene Kloubec; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Kloubec.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
