MSG Twyla Kloos Ret.
A memorial service for Twyla Kloos was held on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2011, in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was born July 9, 1929, and went peacefully to heaven on Oct. 20, 2011, at the age of 82.
Twyla graduated from City High in Iowa City with the class of 1947. She served this country with pride from 1947-1987. In 1980, she was awarded the Military Merit Medal. She was indeed Army strong.
Surviving are her son, Thomas Baker (Linda), and grandsons, Michael and Lee, of Arlington, Texas; brothers, Don and Wayne, both of Cedar Rapids, Glenn of Iowa City, and Art of Sun City, Ariz.; and sisters, Bonnie Mitchell of Charles City and Wanda Sargent of Six Miles, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Essie Kloos; and three sisters, Alberta Kloos, Betty Edmonds and Velma Mohr.
