Klinge, Ernest 'Ernie'
Ernest “Ernie” Klinge, 91, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Ernie was born May 27, 1922, to Kolman and Emma (Stenslie) Klinge in Nelson County near McVille, N.D. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the Marion Legion.
Ernie married Pauline Van Orsdale on Oct. 8, 1955. They were later divorced. In 1992, he married Minerva Blockhus. They were later divorced.
Ernest worked at Rockwell Collins until his retirement.
Ernie is survived by two sisters-in-law, Geneva Klinge, Crookston, Minn., and Nila Klinge, Cedar Rapids. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kolman and Emma Klinge; two brothers, Ardell Klinge and Norman Klinge; and two sisters, Marion (Arnold) Munkel and Lillian (Lewis) Sigette.
