She was born July 6, 1928, in Parnell, Iowa, the daughter of Patrick and Anna (Faas) Masterson. Pat was united in marriage to Herbert Lee Kline on June 15, 1948. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1958. Pat received her undergraduate degree from Mount Mercy College and her master's degree from the University of Iowa.
Pat worked in the Cedar Rapids schools for 30 years as a classroom teacher and Title One Reading Specialist. She put in numerous volunteer hours in various organizations and was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, among others.

Pat's strength was in her faith, family and Irish roots. Her positive attitude, outlook on life, and spirit was the signature of her strength. Mom was the heart of our family and meant the world to us. Our loved ones only die when we stop loving them … Mom, you will live forever.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Saints Foundation or to the Congregation of St. Joseph at 3430 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland, OH 44111.
