Kleppe Jr., Robin G. 'Ar Jay'
Robin G. “Ar Jay” Kleppe Jr., 25, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, conducted by Claire Leonard of Community of Christ Church. Relatives and friends may visit after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that those attending dress casually.
Ar Jay is survived by his parents, Teresa “Teri” Hegland of Cedar Rapids and Robin G. Kleppe Sr. of Texas; son, Drake Kleppe, Cedar Rapids; fiancee, Jill Callan, Cedar Rapids; sisters, Candice Kleppe, Iowa City, and Lisa Hegland, Cedar Rapids; paternal grandparents, Edna and Jim Bornstein and Roberta and Jim Kleppe, all of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bob and Diane Early.
Ar Jay was born Sept. 13, 1986, in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. He loved being outdoors and playing Frisbee golf. Ar Jay enjoyed bowling, cooking, going to concerts and listening to music, playing video games and collecting knives. He was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan and was a great father to his son Drake.
A memorial fund has been established in Ar Jay's name.
