Sherrie Lea Ann Stock was born Aug. 12, 1944, in Iowa City, the daughter of Leland and Adeline (Ulrich) Stock. She grew up on a farm near Iowa City and on July 1, 1972, she married Donald Klemp in Iowa City. Together the couple farmed for the next 33 years while Sherrie also worked as an office manager for a local architectural firm, retiring after 30 years, in 2010. That career afforded her the opportunity to serve as the treasurer and vice president of the Society of Design Administrators (SDA).
Around the farm, she enjoyed gardening, horseback riding and crocheting, but most importantly, she was always there to support her children in all their sports and activities.
Sherrie's family includes her husband, Don; and their children, Deborah Kuiken (Kirk) of Tucson, Ariz., Amanda Bryan (Andy) of Waukee and Scott Klemp of Iowa City; mother, Adeline Stock of Iowa City; sister, Adele Stock (Mark Chowen) of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and grandchildren, Emma and Zach Bryan and Dylan Kuiken.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leland.
