Klekar, Regina Lucille
Regina Lucille Klekar, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Private graveside services will be held at Czech National Cemetery.
Regina was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Lost Nation, Iowa, the daughter of William C. and Florence (Thompson) Jenkins. On Sept. 27, 1947, she married Edward B. Klekar in Nashua, Iowa, at the Little Brown Church. He passed away July 12, 1996. Regina worked for Kenwood Transfer for 18 years before retiring in 1986. She was a 50 year member of the Gardener Chapter of the Eastern Star of Lost Nation.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Barbara Nienkark.
She is survived by her sons, Steven (Maureen) of Springboro, Ohio, John (Barbara) of Cedar Rapids, Edward of Cedar Rapids and Kenneth (Susan) of Marion; two sisters, Dorothy Allerup of Riverside, Calif. and Eva Fuglsang of Dewitt; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy, Cedar Rapids.
