Klein, Barb A.
Barb A. Klein, 73, of Dubuque, formerly of Wauwatosa, Wis., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1755 Delhi St., Dubuque, where friends may greet the family from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Arnold Flater will officiate. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Hoffmann-Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Dubuque is entrusted with arrangements.
Barb was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Wauwatosa, Wis., the daughter of Howard and Eleanor (Barber) Monsen. She married Bruce Klein on June 28, 1958, in Milwaukee. Barb and Bruce moved to Dubuque in 1965.
She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was also a member of the Dorcas Circle. Barb was a homemaker all of her life, and was also employed with Catholic Charities for over four years. She enjoyed bowling, bridge, water skiing, and traveling. She loved her pets, and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Barb and Bruce enjoyed attending the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce of Luther Manor, Dubuque; two sons, Jeff (Julie) Klein of Worthington and Mark (Elaine) Klein of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Vicki), Alex, Kendra, Miranda and Andrew Klein; and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Monsen of Rochester, Minn., and Lynn Monsen of Algonquin, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Bill Monsen and Howard Monsen Jr.
Memorials may be made to the Dubuque Humane Society, 175 North Crescent Ridge, Dubuque, IA 52003.
