Kirkpatrick, Teresa Irene

Teresa Irene Kirkpatrick, 58, of 6809 Beverly Rd., Fairfax, a resident of Manor Care, Cedar Rapids, for two years, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, from complications of diabetes. Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Harlan Gillespie. Friends may call from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Chuck; and children, Dustin at home and Braniff (Weon-Kyung) and granddaughter, Alina, of Hanover Park, Ill.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents.

Born Nov. 19, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Teresa was the daughter of Joseph and Beatrice (Frazier) Drahos. On May 29, 1976, she was united in marriage to Chuck Kirkpatrick. She received her AA degree in nursing from Kirkwood Community College in 1987 and worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Medical Center from 1987 to 2002.

Teresa was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her family and taking family vacations to Walt Disney World. She also enjoyed crafts and time with her friends Julie Lakes, Jan Baseman, Laima Moehller and Mary Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Teresa's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1026 A Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
