Kirchhoff, Lona
Lona Kirchhoff, 91, of Lakeview Village Apartments, Amana, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, Mount Prospect, Ill. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Emily's Catholic Church, Mount Prospect.
Lona was born Dec. 12, 1919, in Niles Center, Ill., daughter of Edward and Mary Conrad. She grew up in Morton Grove, Ill. She married Charles Kirchhoff in 1951 and they made their home in Mount Prospect until his death in 2002. Two years ago she moved to Amana to be near her daughter.
Lona is survived by her son, Steve (Marian) Kirchhoff of Wake Forest, N.C.; daughters, Mary Ellen Anderson of The Village, Fla., and Judy (Kim) Eilers of Swisher; grandchildren, Anne Crawford, Matt and Charlie Kirchhoff (North Carolina), Bobby Anderson (Coralville) and Katy, Tom and Jake Eilers (Swisher); and great-granddaughter, Emily Crawford.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a caring friend to all she met.
Lona was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her husband, Charlie.
