Kinzenbaw, Atellia J. 'Till'
Atellia J. “Till” Kinzenbaw, 86, of Marengo, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Rose Haven Nursing Home following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, First Presbyterian Church, Marengo, with the Rev. Diane Miller officiating. Burial will be in Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established. (Please note visitation and service dates.)
Till is survived by her children, Faythe Roberts (Jim), Dean Jr. “Bil,” Doyle, Dale (Char), Doug (Deanne), Denise Kaestner (William), all of Marengo, and Dave of Phoenix, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren, Brenda McCaw (Chet), Brad Roberts (Paula), Mindy Sherman (Jon), Neil Kinzenbaw (Michelle), Candie Tow (Mike), Brent Kinzenbaw, Justin Kinzenbaw, Jenilee Peterson (Ross), Drew Kinzenbaw (Tiffany), Darrin Kinzenbaw (Katie Cronbaugh) Danelle Kinzenbaw, Kailey Kaestner and Megan Kaestner; 18 great-grandchildren, Amber and Blake McCaw, Connor, Wade, Brooke and Cole Roberts, Mikayla, Dallas and Derek Sherman, Miranda, Mackinze, Clayton and Cassie Kinzenbaw, Dalton and Joshua Crawford, Gunner Paulson and Nola and Henry Peterson; and a great-great-granddaughter, Kenlyn McCaw.
Also surviving are two sisters, Anita Parnin of Phoenix, Ariz. and Vava Heller (George) of Marengo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; a son, Denny; a daughter-in-law, Nicolette; and a brother, Darold “Bud”Solbrig.
Atellia June Kinzenbaw was born May 16, 1926, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. A.I. and Ruby Port Solbrig. She graduated from Marengo High School with the Class of 1944. Till was united in marriage to Dean William Kinzenbaw on Oct. 24, 1945, at First Presbyterian Church in Marengo. Till was a wife, mother and homemaker. She also was a school cook and a teacher's aid for special needs children at the Iowa Valley schools. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Marengo and a charter member of the Happy Homemakers Club. Till was a 50 year member of the Marengo American Legion Auxiliary. Her passions in life were her family, grandchildren, church and friends.
