Kindred, James 'Jimmy' W.
James “Jimmy” W. Kindred, 61, of 2475 Covington Rd., Palo, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Palo United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, by the Rev. John Howerton. Friends may visit with the family after 10 a.m. until the time of service. Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is serving the family.
Jimmy is survived by his two brothers, Gary (Nancy) and Jerry (Lisa) Kindred, both of Palo; niece and nephews, Nicole and Jarod Kindred, Matt (Robyn) Morris, Joe (Heather) Morris and Jerry Morris; and great-nephews, Kanan, Kolby and Kashden Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and great-nephew, Kayden Morris.
James William was born Dec. 7, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the son of William Edward and Delores May (Usher) Kindred. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1970. Jimmy was a devoted farmer up until his death.
Jimmy loved farming, hunting, reading, and especially enjoyed his Allis Chalmers tractors.
He will be remembered for his unique compassion for animals around the farm and from the older books and magazines he often read.
Memorials may be directed to the State of Iowa's TIP program.
