Kincaid-Belverstone, Edith Louise
Edith Louise Kincaid-Belverstone, 88, fell asleep in the Lord Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jonathan Offt will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her sister, Ida Schiwindler of Michigan; and her children, Midge (George) Saba of Cedar Rapids, Denise (Ronald) Rieb of Colorado, Lauren Robinson of Cedar Rapids, Charles (Ellen) Robinson of Colorado, Elise “Liz” Tyler of California, Rene (Steve) Turner of Utah, Rueben (Mitzi) Belverstone of Utah, and Esther (Ben) Kryger of California.
She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Jesse Robinson, Judith Wall and Melvin Belverstone; sisters, Pearl Ash, Heloise Siebell; and brother, Paul Harold Kindcaid.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She loved flowers and gardening, dogs, crossword, conservative politics, writing editorials for the Cedar Rapids Gazette, and even had three songs published and recorded.
Edith loved her family and friends. She enjoyed the right to vote and sharing the word of the Lord. She was a woman very strong in her Christian faith.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hospice of Mercy, Aging Services, Meals on Wheels, and the Rev. Jonathan Offt, the Rev. David Miller and Gary Whittle of Trinity Lutheran Church.
