Kimmerle, William 'Bill' Leslie
William “Bill” Leslie Kimmerle, 63, of Security-Widefield, Colo., succumbed to cancer and passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012. Memorial services: noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at VFW Post 2440, 128 Third Ave. NE, Independence.
He was born in Independence, Iowa, on April 11, 1949, to James Donald and Marjorie Louise (Gericke) Kimmerle. A 1967 graduate of Independence High School, Bill worked for Shaw's Plumbing and Heating until 30 years ago when he moved to Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include four children, Robert, Kenneth, Shelly and Jeremy; five brothers, James of Cedar Rapids, Gary (Sharon) of Marceline, Mo., Tom (Leona) and Charles (Maureen), both of Independence, and Richard (Becky) of Chino Valley, Ariz.; a sister, Sandra (Gerry Simpson) of Independence; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
