Kimm Stastny
Kimm Stastny
Wauconda, IL
Kimm Stastny passed away on October 20, 2024. Kimm was born on March 15, 1947.
From a young age, Kimm had a passion for the arts. He spent his life drawing, painting, and sculpting. The art he created was highly imaginative, cultivating a space where people feel comfortable sharing their unique interpretations, leading to more meaningful conversations.
Kimm was the Director of the Fine Arts Department at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois; the former president of the Illinois Art Education Association, and of the Art Educators of Iowa; as well as a member of the Chicago Artists Coalition.
He loved learning. One of his proud accomplishments was learning to sail. After taking lessons, he crewed with a team on Lake Michigan after work and on weekends. Kimm also loved to travel and in addition to traveling with his family, he chaperoned students to various locations in the U.S. and Europe.
Kimm’s greatest passion was his family, and we were so very fortunate to call him our husband, dad, gramps, and great-gramps. He was a kind and generous man and will be missed by many.
Kimm is survived by his wife Sheryl, daughters, Bridget VanGetson, Monica (Steve) Collins, and Gillian (Jim) Farsalas; grandchildren, Lindsey (Nick), Morgan (Cody), Zach (Carolin), Jackson, Rowan, and Alice; and his great-grandchildren, Ava, Zoey, Lyric, Everly and Lyncoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Cecilia (Balik) Stastny, brother Todd and sisters Carol and Leni.
