Kimble Lee Springman, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at the age of 66 after a valiant battle with illness.
Kim was born to parents Theodore and Liliane Springman on July 5, 1950, in Washington, Iowa. He grew up in Cedar Rapids as one of nine children. Kim was known for his sense of humor and ability to create affectionate nicknames for his friends and family. He enjoyed collecting albums from his favorite musical artists and watching movies. His grandchildren called him Papa, which he adored.
Kim is survived by his mother, Lilianne; his daughters, Deja (Wayne) Burns and Desiree (Jon) Springman; his sons, Chris (Melissa) Olson and Jesse (Mary) Springman; his former wife, Carol (Harold) Springman-Lacina; his brothers, Barry, Bob and Kevin; his sisters, Candy, Edie, Micki and Shirley; and grandchildren, Alexi, Antonio, Brianna, Carlee, Drake, Jade, Jamie, Lorencio, Peyton, Rachel and Tiffany.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore, and brother, Michael.
