Kimberly S. "Kim" Potter, 40, of Mechanicsville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held from
10 a.m. to noon at the Mechanicsville Memorial Building on Saturday, Oct. 9,
with a lunch to follow. A private graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Kim was born Sept. 21, 1981, in Cedar Rapids, to Rudolph "Rudy" Huffman and Inis Svoboda. She married Chris Potter on June 21, 2008, in Mechanicsville.
Kim is survived by her husband, Chris; daughter, Aleah at home; stepdaughter, Alexis Potter from North Liberty; sister, Jennifer (Steven) Gaunt of Tipton; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kim was a very loving wife, mother, and the best sister that always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, board games, movies, and Green Day music. She was a girl scout leader and was the leader of the SPRC committee for Faith UCC Methodist Church in Mechanicsville. She was a huge Harry Potter fan, liked the color red, and would do anything for anybody at any time.

The family would like to thank the Mechanicsville Fire Department and the Lisbon and Mechanicsville Ambulances for their care and service.
A memorial fund has been established at Bridge Community Bank in Mechanicsville.
