Kimberly Ann Misel-Scott, 63, of Marengo, IA passed away January 14, in her home surrounded by family.
Kim was born September 20, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Donald and Marilyn (Stuck) Misel. She grew up right behind Main Street in Amana and graduated from Amana High School in 1980. She is also a graduate of Kirkwood Community College.
She spent her career at Rockwell Collins working in various engineering departments. After 36 years, she retired and helped out on the farm.
On December 24, 1988, Kim was united in marriage with George Scott, they made their home west of Marengo. During their marriage, they welcomed two children, a daughter Jamie Wolter (William and Scottlyn) of Homestead, IA and a son Alex Scott of Marengo, IA.
Kim enjoyed helping volunteer many years at the Iowa County Fairgrounds, mowing, planting and keeping the landscape looking nice for the fair. She also enjoyed painting and art, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, spending time outdoors, planting flowers, and spending time with family.
She was a member of the Amana Church.
Kim is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, George; two children, Jamie Wolter (William and Scottlyn) of Homestead and a son, Alex Scott of Marengo. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Marilyn Misel and a brother Chris Misel.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Especially for her creativity, dedication, work ethic and love for family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in care of Kloster Funeral Home, 298 W. Washington St. Marengo, Iowa 52301, to the Iowa County Fair, Amana Church, and the First Presbyterian Church of Marengo. Per Kim’s wishes, there will be a private family funeral service at a later date. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life at a later time. The Scott family thanks everyone for their heartfelt wishes and condolences at this time.
