Kim Sue Ward, 55, of Hiawatha, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015. A celebration of her life, hosted by her daughters, will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at bella sala event center, 205 S. Park Rd., Tiffin.
Born in Marshalltown on March 28, 1960, to Robert and Gen Lepird, Kim graduated from Marshalltown High School. She later moved to Cedar Rapids, where she raised her two daughters. In recent years, she worked in hospitality and managed a restaurant. Kim was happiest when she was spending time with her children and four grandchildren. She will be remembered most for her loving heart and willingness to help others.
Kim is survived by her mother, Gen Lepird; sister, Marsha Lepird; brother, Tim (RaeJean) Lepird; daughters, Melissa (Blake) Fontanini and McKenzie Ward (and boyfriend, Bart Earsa); and grandchildren, Ethan and Savannah Fontanini, Emma Vollbrecht and Max Earsa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lepird.
