Kim Lynnette Hamilton, 65 of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The family has chosen private services. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation are caring for Kim and her family.
Kim is survived by her longtime partner, William Kubite; three daughters, Jennifer and Judy Hamilton and Leea (Brandon) Swehla; two sons, Daulton (Emily) Gerber and Robert (Aubrey) Kubite; two sisters, Konnie Jacobson and Kris (Ed) Mittan; one brother, Lonnie (Ladonna) Jacobson; seven grandsons, Jaden Hamilton, Joshua Visek II, Brayden Moore, Collin Daniel, Easton and Jaxson Gerber, and Kyler Mally; three granddaughters, Jazlyn (Kane) Dunn, Coraline Gerber, Oakleigh Kubite, and twin granddaughters on the way (which she was very excited about); two great-grandchildren, Snow Sunderman and Jenna Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.
Kim is preceded in death by her husband, David Stanley Hamilton; parents, Lynn and Patricia Jacobson; brother, Lynn Patrick Jacobson; and grandmother, Luella Jacobson.
Kim was born on April 5, 1959, in Nevada, Iowa, the daughter of Lynn and Patricia Jacobson. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and attended Kennedy High School where she met her future husband, David. They went on to marry on September 18, 1976. Kim and David soon had twin daughters, Jennifer and Judy. David was a big Chevy guy and together they built a 1973 Chevy Nova SS. Tragically, in 1986 Kim lost the love of her life. Kim was a strong and resilient woman. She went on to live life to the fullest. In addition to the twins, she added three, Leea, Daulton, and Robert. Kim was very proud of all five of her children, they were her world.
Kim had a love of animals and was a plant enthusiast. She was a devoted Little House on the Prairie fan and loved NASCAR Sundays. Her favorite drivers were #2 Rusty Wallace and #48 Jimmie Johnson. Kim lived her life by her own set of rules. She will always be known for her bold and outspoken spirit and she never shied away from speaking her mind, a trait that left a lasting impression. Kim will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She shared an especially close bond with her grandson Brayden whose presence brought her strength and brightened her days.
A special thank-you to Mercy Hospital and Clinics of Cedar Rapids and Local First Responders for their care and compassion.
