Kim Hollingsworth
Kim Hollingsworth
Cedar Rapids
Kim Hollingsworth (1953 – 2024) was a hardworking, giving brother, son, and uncle who put the needs of others ahead of his own. Born in Tokyo, Japan, he moved to the states with his military parents. Kim graduated Jefferson High School in 1971, playing in Drum and Bugle Corps tournaments. Kim attended the University of Iowa, completing his Master’s Degree. After college he joined the West Liberty Police, then served as Sheriff Deputy in Boulder, Colorado, he then returned to Cedar Rapids for his true passion, coaching girls’ softball at Prairie, Kennedy, Linn County Cougars, and other clubs. On any given weekend you would find him on a field.
Kim was very proud of his military father Marvin and mother Wakaba. He is survived by his brothers Oliver and Lee and sister Sandy, four nieces Nicole, Stefanie, Melissa, Sarah; and nephew, Jonathan.
