Kim Marie Ellis, 51, of Guttenberg, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at the Ed & Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the funeral home. Burial: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon, Iowa.
Kim is survived by her daughter, Tiffany (Dusty) Beck of Cedar Rapids; stepdaughters, Kaitlyn (Wes Walker) Ellis of Texas and Michelle Ellis of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Nina Beck of Cedar Rapids; stepgrandson, Bradley Dale Buckman of Oelwein; mother, JoAnn Price of Monticello; brother, Dennis (Monica) Price of Coggon; sisters, Dona Jo (Dave) Wickman of Marion, Kendra (Randy) Pejchl of Monticello and Kathy (Keith Burkle) Falconer of Coggon; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald J. Price; and grandparents, Donald B. and Bessie Price and Merrill and Freida Kimm.
Kim was born June 23, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Donald J. and JoAnn (Kimm) Price. She graduated in 1984 from North Linn High School. In October 1985, Kim married Dave Taylor at Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan. Into this union their daughter, Tiffany, was born. Years later, she married Dan Ellis in June 2001 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. They later divorced. She worked at Myers-Cox as an accountant for over 15 years. Kim was a very good, loyal employee. She enjoyed living on the Mississippi River, gardening and being outside. Kim had an amazing green thumb. She was selfless and would do anything to make others happy. One of her greatest joys was being a grandma. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Unity Point Hospice for Ed & Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit, 290 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402; in Kim's memory.
