Kim Bruns passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital. A service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Kim was born Sept. 28, 1955, in Moline, Ill. He was the son of Barbara Minear and Harry Bruns. He graduated from Crete-Mone High School in Crete, Ill. He also graduated for MaryCrest College. Kim was united in marriage to Judy Fuglsang Bruns on Sept. 15, 1984, in DeWitt, Iowa. He worked for Global Filters in Bertram, before retiring last year.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Cubs and spending time with his family.
Kim is survived by his two sons, Christopher Bruns of Omaha, Neb., and Nicholas (Jasmine) Bruns of Cedar Rapids; and daughter, Hannah Bruns (special friend Marcus) of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by two grandchildren, August and Oliver; and two sisters, Kristy Ellenberg (Terry) of Davenport, Iowa, and Cindy Bruns-Smit (Donald) of Haines City, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mark Bruns.
