Kile, Gary C.
Gary G. Kile, 76, of Marion, died July 30, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion. The Rev. Greg Williamson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Wanda R. Kile; his children, Craig A. Kile and wife Stacey of Solon, and Dawn M. Kile and partner Robert Boer of Brighton; and his grandchildren, Satin Kile of Oskaloosa, Amber Brown of Cedar Rapids, Haley and Jessica Birch, both of Solon, and Sarah Boer of Brighton.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Marion, Robert and William Jr.
Gary George Kile was born June 5, 1936 in McGregor, Iowa, the son of William E. and Edna M. (Miller) Kile. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Wanda R. Washburn on December 9, 1961 in McGregor. He worked for over 31 years as a Testing Technician at Rockwell Collins. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion American Legion Post #298 and was past president and member of the Cedar Rapids Men's Bowling Association. Gary enjoyed bowling and was involved with league bowling for over 50 years. He also enjoyed the Chicago Cubs and above all time spent with his beloved family. He will be dearly missed.
Memorial donations in Gary's honor may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
