Kevin C. Tisinger, 29, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of complications related to Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with the Rev. Jeff Tackaberry officiating. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Riverside. A time of fellowship will begin at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at The Kirkwood Room (next to the funeral home).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center or Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
Kevin was born Dec. 1, 1984, in Iowa City, the son of Paul M. and Alma Havel Tisinger. He was a 2003 graduate of West High School and had attended the University of Iowa, where he was majoring in finance. Kevin was employed by Thomas L. Cardella and Associates.
Kevin fought a courageous battle throughout his illness. He loved to hunt and fish, collect glass art, play video games and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and sport enthusiast.
Kevin had a positive outlook on life. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his fiancee, Autumn Furgerson of Iowa City; his parents, Paul and Alma of Iowa City; his three siblings, Michelle (Dan) Wilkinson of Iowa City, Paul R. (Geralynn) Tisinger of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., and Brad Tisinger of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Nathan, Ashley, Tyler, Cailee, Falynn, Abigail and Olivia; and his beloved four-legged companions, Addy and Word.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and extended family.
