Kevin Jay Gould, 60, of Hiawatha, previously of Southern California, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, in Cedar Rapids after a long battle with COPD. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Murdoch Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at the funeral home. Luncheon to follow at Bali Hai Estates Community Building, 1405 Robins Rd., Hiawatha.
Kevin was born Dec. 27, 1957, in Inglewood Calif., the son of William and Helen (Gilson) Gould. He graduated from Royal Oak High School in Covina, Calif., in 1976. Kevin worked as a mechanic and in construction in California. He moved to Iowa in 1988, working with Auto Zone for six years then in-home healthcare. On Feb. 17, 1998, Kevin married Laurie Lynn Torrance.
Kevin enjoyed fishing, camping, RC cars, watching the NFL and Hawkeye football and listening to music. He also liked going to car shows and NHRA drag racing. Most of all, Kevin loved his family.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Laurie; sibling, Robin Jones of Hiawatha; nieces and nephews; his dog, Schwinn; and his best friend, Tom Bonshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen; and sister, Judy Adcock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
