Kenneth Edward "Kenny" Tackman, 77, of rural Garnavillo, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.
He was born the son of Emil and Ilsa (Esmann) Tackman on Aug. 9, 1937, on the family farm near Garnavillo. Kenny received his education from the Buck Creek Country School and Garnavillo School and farmed with his family for many years.
On Sept. 30, 1995, he was united in marriage with Brenda Lutz at St. John's Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Kenny enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, mushrooming, Ginseng hunting and all outdoor activities and was an avid Hawkeye basketball fan.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; one brother, Robert (Shirley) Tackman; one niece, Julie (Frank) Davis; one great-niece, Ellie Davis; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ervin.
Arrange-ments are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St, Guttenberg, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, and one hour before services Saturday at the church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg. Interment will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and all styles of sympathy, memorials may be given to the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.
