Kenneth Lewis Schirm, 88, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and the Cedar Rapids and Newhall area, passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2015. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Pastor Steven Rempfer of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kenneth was born Aug. 11, 1927, to William and Lena (Ernst) Schirm. He graduated from Atkins High School and served in the Army during World War II. He retired in 1988 from Penford Products after 35 years of service in the accounting department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Irvin and Vernon; and sister, Doris Schlotterbeck.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Pauline Schirm and several nieces and nephews.
